About Dr. DeVane

Dr. Matthew S. DeVane is board certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine. He is a recognized expert in heart disease prevention and is helping pioneer state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostic testing efforts in Northern California with PET stress testing, 64 slice CT heart scans and the latest in heart technology-cardiac CT angiography. Dr. DeVane is a key investigator in numerous state-of-the-art cardiovascular clinical research on such topics as lowering cholesterol. His life goal is to prevent heart attacks.

An award winning medical writer, he has published in multiple scientific journals, lectures frequently, and has been a featured guest on many television and radio programs.

Currently a full-time practicing cardiologist and Director of Cardiac Disease Prevention with Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group, he sits on the board of The American Heart Association and is the director of non-invasive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA.

Dr. DeVane completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at The Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. He then completed a three year cardiovascular fellowship at Tampa General Hospital and The University of South Florida. Dr. DeVane was chief cardiology fellow and obtained a Masters in Business Administration during his cardiology training.
